We are pleased to be taking part in the World Energy Capital Assembly event, an anchor event on the industry calendar in London, which brings the oil & gas and finance & investment worlds together.
- 2 – 3 December 2019
- London, United Kingdom
Richard Hewston, Principal Consultant, Environment and Climate Change, will be delivering a keynote speech at 1.45 pm on day one of the event, discussing “Hedging climate risk - how the TCFD recommendations can help prepare industry and investors for the Inevitable Policy Response.”
Within the wider context of the energy transition, the TCFD recommendations represent a framework for investors and corporates to engage on climate risk. But is there currently a mismatch in expectations from both sides and can this be resolved in time?
What Richard will cover in his presentation:
- Where are we on the energy transition journey, what's the Inevitable Policy Response and what are the potential implications for oil and gas companies and their investors?
- Against this backdrop, using Verisk Maplecroft's Corporate Exposure Tool, we will explore where climate risk is concentrated and the latest trends?
- What are the TCFD recommendations, how is the industry responding and where are the gaps? How companies and investors can remedy those disclosure pain points and achieve a more transparent view of risk.
