Role Purpose

This role will manage a large number of the European and North American accounts and will be responsible for retaining and growing client revenue and relationships among these companies. 

Role Focus

The role will focus on retaining clients through a variety of mechanisms, e.g. phone and web based solutions.  The successful candidate will also ultimately be expected to recognise upsell and cross selling opportunities within these accounts from both a research and consulting perspective and work with the wider Sales & Marketing team to realise these opportunities.  The position will be largely office based.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain sales and maximise profitability of Maplecroft’s offerings by successfully managing an extensive client portfolio.

Role: Analyst/Senior Analyst – West Africa

Role Purpose 

Verisk Maplecroft’s Africa Research team is responsible for developing the company’s qualitative analysis and forecasts relating to political, security economic and regulatory risks across sub-Saharan Africa. The team works closely with Verisk Maplecroft’s analytics, human rights, and environmental teams on products and analysis relevant to international investors.

The West Africa Analyst/Senior Analyst will take the lead in generating in-depth and forward-looking analysis of political, regulatory, economic and security developments in the sub-region, particularly Nigeria and other countries in West Africa. The analyst will collaborate with our economics team to develop assessments of the political factors affecting economic trends and developments. The analyst will also work closely with the wider Africa team on cross-cutting regional issues.

Main Responsibilities

  • Produce forward-looking briefings and insights on events and trends in West Africa and their impact on the interests of Verisk Maplecroft’s clients
  • Create and update Verisk Maplecroft’s core country profile content for West Africa

Team Profile

The Technology team at Maplecroft is responsible for designing, developing, and running the infrastructure and products that drive the company. Maplecroft is a data-driven company, and the Technology team sits at the heart of what we do. We're a small but capable team that values independent thought, critical thinking, and pragmatism.

Role Purpose

This will be the first hire in a new Data Science team reporting into the CTO. We need someone to work with people (and data sources) across the business to consolidate, aggregate, and make sense of various types of data, ranging from website analytics to structured API feeds from vendors to web crawls. A few example projects that the successful candidate would work on are:

  • Customer engagement reports & dashboards to support the Sales & Marketing team, pulling data from Google Analytics and our CMS & entitlement databases to show who is (or isn’t!) accessing what content
  • Usage metrics for the Research teams to better understand how customers are consuming their content (using similar data to 1.)
  • Using web scraping tools to assist Research analysts with their work by aggregating and annotating a variety of news sources
  • Working with Data Scientists in our Analytics team to help them gather and process structured and unstructured data sets in support of their work
  • Working with the Software Engineering and Infrastructure teams to turn pilot projects from around the business into production applications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Key skills are Python programming and a working knowledge of range of databases. We aren’t looking for a web developer, though someone with that background would be well suited to the role. Specific technologies you will be expected to work with include:
