        The Climate Change Vulnerability Index evaluates the risk relating to the lack of capacity of individuals, communities, economies and societies to mitigate the risks from changes in patterns of natural hazards and impacts on ecosystem services as a result of climate change.

        The Corporate Governance Index assesses the risk of failures of corporate governance, and includes analysis of both the quality of existing legal structures and the extent to which the law is enforced.

        The Corruption and Transparency Index is based on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI 2009) compiled by Transparency International (TI), a leading NGO committed to combating corruption worldwide. The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2009 charts corruption in the public sector and politics as perceived by business people, academics and risk analysts

        The Democratic Governance Index evaluates democracy and political freedom in a country and measures the potential reputational risk or risk of complicity for responsible business operating in a non-democratic country or dictatorship.
      • Dependency On Commodity Exports

        The Dependence on Commodity Exports Index evaluates the risk of a volatile economic performance deriving from excessive specialisation on one or few exports.
      • Digital Inclusion Index

        The Digital Inclusion Index tracks the digital divide by measuring the relative difference in ICT opportunity levels among economies and provides information on different telecommunication indicators, so countries can be easily compared.

        The Disappearances Index measures the risk of complicity in disappearances and abductions, or to the security risk of employees and suppliers of being ‘disappeared’ or abducted.

        The Discrimination Index assesses the risk of complicity of responsible business in discrimination, especially if active societal or governmental discrimination exists in a country.
      • Displacement Index

        The Displacement Index assesses the risk posed to individual countries and their business environments by human displacement (refugees and internally displaced persons).
      • Dynamic Political Risk Index

        The Dynamic Political Risk Index is comprised of twelve political risk indices under the themes of governance framework, political violence and business and macroeconomics. The term dynamic is used to suggest that these risks can change quickly due to direct government action, business activities or to action by sub-state or other politically-motivated groups.

        The Economic Diversification Index assesses the risk of the reliance of a country’s economy on primary commodities, and in particular a non-diverse mix of commodities.

        Based on the World Economic Forum survey data for Ethical behaviour of firms; comparing the corporate ethics (ethical behaviour in interactions with public officials, politicians, and other enterprises) of firms in a given country with those of other countries in the world.

        The External Debt Index profiles the external debt situation of developing and emerging economies, and offers an in-depth analysis of external debt and its implications over the last decades.

        The Extrajudicial or Unlawful Killings Index evaluates extrajudicial killings of civilians committed by governments, the security forces and/or those acting on their behalf as well as unlawful killings carried out by armed groups or other actors.

        The Female Rights Index measures the severity and prevalence of violations against females, with particular attention paid to discrimination in the workplace.

        The Financial Inclusion Index assesses the extent to which households and firms have access to financial services by analysing use of formal financial intermediaries, eligibility for and affordability of financial services.

        The Financial Market Index assesses country specific risks to financial system stability over a short-term financial investment time horizon.

        The Fiscal Risk Index analyses challenges to countries’ fiscal sustainability, particularly those arising from processes of demographic transition, in conjunction with national abilities to manage these challenges.
      • Food Security Risk Index 2010

        The Food Security Risk Index assesses the risk of food insecurity, providing quantitative assessments of access and availability of food and the stability of food production systems. The FSRI also comprises indicators to measure the nutritional outcomes of each country’s relative food security.
      • Forced or Involuntary Labour Index

        The Forced or Involuntary Labour Index measures the risk of complicity in the use of forced labour due to its prevalence and type, and its perpetrators. Government efforts to combat it are also taken into account.

        The Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining Index measures workers’ abilities to establish and join unions, to negotiate collectively and to promote their interests, including through strikes.
      • Freedom of Conscience, Expression and Religion Index

        The Freedom of Conscience, Expression and Religion Index assesses restrictions on the ability to hold, seek and receive opinions and beliefs, including those regarding religion.

        The Freedom of Speech and Press Index measures the prevalence, gravity and impunity of violations of free expression, including against the media.

        The Geophysical Disasters Index assesses the risk to human populations from natural disasters related to geophysical natural hazards (volcanoes, landslides earthquakes and tsunamis).

        The Human Rights Risk Index indicates the risk that responsible business is exposed to through possible association with, and exposure to, human rights violations at a country level.
      • Human Security Risk Index

        The Human Security Risk Index assesses the risk of human rights violations relating to personal security including: kidnapping, child soldiers, disappearances, torture, extrajudicial killings or unlawful killings, internal displacement and refugees and security forces and human rights.
      • Hunger Index

        The Hunger Index assesses the risk posed to individual countries and a conducive business environment within those countries, by hunger. It explores the prevalence of undernourishment, analysing the proportion of people in a population whose food intake is chronically insufficient to meet their minimum energy requirements.

        The Hydro-meteorological Disasters Index assesses the risk to human populations from natural disasters related to hydro-meteorological natural hazards (storms, floods, droughts and associated phenomena).
      • Impact Of Conflict On Society Index

        The Impact of Conflict on Society Index assesses how a society has been negatively affected by conflict and the challenges it may face in post conflict times. It analyses the use of sexual violence and child soldiers, the impact on refugees and internally displaced persons and aid dependency.

        The Indigenous Peoples Rights Index measures the risk of complicity in violations committed against indigenous peoples, including violations of land and cultural rights.

        The Influenza Pandemic Risk: Capacity to Contain Index assesses the ability and resources of each country to contain an outbreak of human influenza and avert or slow down a full pandemic.

        The Influenza Pandemic Risk: Risk of Emergence Index assesses the risk of an outbreak of swine or avian influenza that can infect and be passed between humans. It focuses primarily on the proximity of, and relationship between, animals and humans.

        The Influenza Pandemic Risk: Risk of Spread Index assesses the risk of the spread via humans of an infectious human influenza virus from a country where a swine or avian flu has emerged to other countries.

        The Internal Displacement and Refugees Index assesses the numbers of refugees and IDPs in each country and makes an expert qualitative assessment of how well they are protected by the government whilst examining how governments facilitate the integration of refugees and the return of displaced people.

        Based on World Bank Doing Business component measuring the strength of investor protection. It is based on the extent of disclosure index, extent of director liability index and ease of shareholder suits index.
      • Judicial Effectiveness Index

        The Judicial Effectiveness Index measures the efficiency and effectiveness of the judicial system as a mechanism for providing remedy for human rights violations.
      • Judicial Independence Index

        The Judicial Independence Index measures the extent to which the judiciary is subject to outside influence and corruption, including from the government, business and other actors.
      • Kidnapping Index

        The Kidnapping Index measures risk to employee safety (assessing frequency of kidnapping and motivation) and risk of association with kidnappings.
      • Labour Rights and Protection Index

        The Labour Rights and Protection Index measures the risk of association with, and involvement in, violations of labour rights within a given country. Comprised of seven indices (child labour; forced labour; trafficking; freedom of association and collective bargaining; discrimination, and working conditions).
      • Legal and Regulatory Environment Index

        The Legal and Regulatory Environment Index assesses the respect for the respect for the rule of law, the regulatory framework, corporate governance, incidence of corruption, respect for property rights and business partner and supply chain risk within a country. Deficiencies in each area highlight the risks to responsible businesses from non-adherence to international standards to complicity in human rights violations.

        The Minority Rights Index measures the risk of complicity in violations committed against minority groups, including discrimination, violence, and barriers to enjoying full societal participation.

        The Natural Disasters Economic Losses (High frequency) Index explores the risk of economic losses relating to damage costs and deaths caused by natural disasters in countries with a high frequency of events, reflecting both the direct economic impact of natural disasters on property and infrastructure, as well as the potential indirect economic impact caused due to the impact on the population.

        The Natural Disasters Economic Losses (High frequency) Index explores the risk of economic losses relating to damage costs and deaths caused by natural disasters in countries with a high frequency of events, reflecting both the direct economic impact of natural disasters on property and infrastructure, as well as the potential indirect economic impact caused due to the impact on the population.

        The Poverty and Development Index assesses the level of development, defined as the opportunities available to live a healthy life, have a decent standard of living and access education.

        The Regime Complicity Index assesses the extent of democracy and political freedom and potential risk to business as a result of a corrupt judiciary. The effectiveness of security forces as well as their involvement in human rights violations indicates the potential need for private security.

        The Regime Stability Index evaluates the risk to business of political turmoil and disruption of governance by examining the peaceful or violent nature of the last regime change and potential for unrest. The index also examines the recent history of coups, forced resignations of the executive and changes in the constitution as well as levels of democratic governance.
