The service provides a collection of regularly updated multi-media products that report and analyse non-financial risks around the world. Risks are categorised into economic, societal, environmental and political categories – which are in turn divided into sub-risks such as energy and commodities, law/regulation, climate change and terrorism.

Subscribers to the service will obtain access to:

  • Global Risks Forecast: A short paper analysing major events and dynamics in an ‘executive summary’ format. Published on a fortnightly basis
  • Global Risks Digest: A comprehensive digest of global risk events and news, including analysis and selected in-depth country profiles. Risk events are analysed in terms of risk-type, impact-type, immediacy and whether a risk is increasing, decreasing or stable. Published on a fortnightly basis
  • Global Risks Map: An interactive map, which geographically displays all of the information in the Global Risks Digest. The map can be self-tailored to display user preferences, and contains immediately accessible background information on each country. All archived materials will be accessible
  • Global Risks Movies: A three minute fortnightly animation of key events and dynamics for fast and easy updates of current risks
  • Maplecroft’s premium Global Risks Map service, which will include maps of political risk, conflict, energy security, terrorism, pandemics, financial markets, fiscal crisis, human rights, natural disasters and climate change amongst others

The Global Risks service is currently undergoing a ‘soft launch’. Over the next few months it will undergo improvement based on user feedback. Significant improvements we intend to make include a full matrix-based search capability, using all of the identified variables attached to the risk events (such as timelines, impact type, location, date and level). We also intend to update the Global Risks Map on a day to day basis and produce fortnightly ‘movies’ on relevant global dynamics.
